Project Type: Arts & Culture Audio Design
Location: Chiswick, London
Year: 2024
Client: Record Label Client
SDS Role: Architectural Audio Consultancy
Project Context
A record label client required a complete transformation of an existing studio space into a fully resolved artist hub capable of supporting producers, engineers, and collaborative sessions over extended periods.
Design Constraint
The project required multiple production rooms with independent acoustic treatment strategies, isolation upgrades, and workflow planning tailored to the label's creative process.
Sonic Concept
Full recording studio renovation encompassing comprehensive acoustic solutions, complete fit-out, and supply of all studio infrastructure as a coordinated package. Each room was designed around principles of sound isolation, early reflection management, and low-frequency control.
Integration Approach
The design addressed mass, decoupling, damping, and airtightness for isolation, while internal acoustics focused on speaker-to-listener geometry, bass trapping, and controlled rear-wall behaviour. Workflow planning ensured fast, comfortable creative sessions.
Project Outcome
A professional-grade artist hub delivered to a high technical and operational standard, where acoustics, isolation, monitoring accuracy, and creative workflow are resolved as one coherent system.

We help bring sound into the project early, treated as part of the spatial and cultural experience rather than a late stage installation.
