Project Type: Residential Audio Design

Location: Multiple

Year: Multiple

Client: Private Clients

SDS Role: Architectural Audio Consultancy

Project Context

A curated showcase of integrated residential sound design across a portfolio of private homes in London and beyond. Each installation is approached as an architectural exercise, where the loudspeaker, the listening position and the room itself are resolved together rather than treated as separate technical concerns.

Design Constraint

Residential interiors are demanding acoustic environments. Reflective surfaces, open plans and shifting circulation patterns conflict with the stillness required for a precise sonic image. Our brief across these projects has been to deliver acoustic performance that respects the material palette, the rhythm of daily use and the discipline of the wider design scheme.

Sonic Concept

Across each home we work as a single audio design partner from concept through to commissioning. Zonal architecture, passive loudspeaker specification, DSP driven calibration and intuitive control are coordinated against the architectural drawing set. Loudspeakers are positioned as intentional design elements, never afterthoughts, and never visually compromised by late stage technical compromise.

Integration Approach

Cabling routes, speaker positions, subwoofer locations and control points are planned alongside the joinery, the lighting design and the finishes. The system is engineered for spatial continuity, so the listening experience is consistent as the resident moves between rooms, and tuned for low level intelligibility as well as full range performance during entertaining.

Project Outcome

A consistent body of residential work where audio quietly reinforces the identity of the interior. The result, across each property, is a system that feels resolved with the architecture, performs with precision at any volume, and supports both everyday listening and the wider rhythm of the home.
