Project Type: Hospitality Audio Design
Location: Covent Garden, London
Year: 2021
Client: Bisushima Restaurant Group
SDS Role: Architectural Audio Consultancy
Project Context
In 2021 Sonic Design Studios was commissioned to deliver the audio integration for Bisushima, a premium hospitality venue in Covent Garden, London. Our primary objective was to support and enhance the architectural vision established by the award-winning firm Ben Adams Architects.
Design Constraint
The central design constraint dictated that the audio technology should not be hidden away. Instead, the sculptural loudspeakers needed to function simultaneously as exceptional sound sources and striking spatial elements, actively reinforcing the design intent rather than being concealed.
Sonic Concept
Our sonic concept featured a bespoke Pequod Acoustics system integrated as a core component of the interior language. In this space, the audio equipment directly contributes to the spatial narrative of the restaurant.
Integration Approach
During integration, we positioned the loudspeakers entirely as deliberate design elements rather than hidden fixtures. This approach created a profound visual coherence between the audio technology and the surrounding architecture.
Project Outcome
The project outcome was highly successful and was ultimately recognised for its flawless technical execution and visual coherence. The completely integrated audio design was featured in Architecture Magazine, serving as a testament to the seamless blend of acoustic engineering and architectural vision.
